Milani Lavender Fizz (almost) one coat glitter

It seems I am incapable of just wearing one nail polish at a time.  I can not leave it alone!  I try.  I really do.  Good grief, with 5 kids (one being a baby) I really really need to perfect the speedy mani.  Oh well.

Lavender Fizz is the 3rd Milani one coat glitter I've bought.  One really thick coat could be enough with any of them, but I couldn't resist adding more color.  I sandwiched a Sally Girl in between to add some blue hues to the lavender.

It goes: Milani, Sally, Milani, clear coat x2.  The Milani is very rough alone.  Dries quickly though!

One more shot.  Can you see the blue bits?  My finger tips are like tiny shiny disco balls!  :)

Kleancolor Metallic pink

 Kleancolor Metallic Pink 158 is awesome!  For starters, it's a one-coater.  I have not taken it off yet, so it may stain my nails horribly but I don't care.  My nails are never nekkid anyway.  :)
It's a bright, hot pink!! (see ring finger) Not a meek color.  Would be a great toe color.

I read many reviews about the stinkiness of Kleancolor polish.  My opinion?  Yes, it stinks.  It's nail polish!  It has a different smell than other polishes...but they ALL stink.  You don't see Glade offering a Harvest Spice & Orange Nail Polish scent.  :)

 Here is Pink Holo 134 over all but the ring finger.  Really pretty rainbow sparkly glitters.  Slightly gritty, but a fast dry  top coat fixed the texture issue.
Speaking of drying...the metallics dry quickly.  The holos and glitters are slow, and take forever to become "dent" resistant. 

 This mani is crazy bright & vibrant.  I wish I were a better photographer!
Here is Pinky Moon 30.  It takes some digging and luck to get a crescent, but it is worth it.  Super cute!

KleanColor haul

So I went a little overboard shopping the Kleancolor sale at BeautyJoint.com.  :)  About 6 of these are going to my Mom, so :oP  LOL!!  I can't wait to try ALL of them!  I will be spamming you with pics every chance I get.  I know you are breathless with anticipation.  :)

Catherine Arley Holo 676

It's an insanely sunny day here in Oklahoma.  Perfect for showing you my silver holographic nubbies!!
This is 3 coats on all fingers, 2 coats on my thumbs.  Next time I will try a base coat of white or gray.  

Catherine Arley holographic polish swatches

February 2nd I ordered Catherine Arley polishes from beautycosmetic.biz.  I learned about the polish and the vender from Emerald Sparkled and DROOLED over the swatches at Fashion Polish.  (seriously, grab a tissue)

The customer service at BeautyCosmetic.Biz was awesome.  I payed via Paypal, and my polishes arrived today (just a little over 1 month later) perfectly in tact.  I think that's an appropriate wait time for a shipment to make the long trek, through customs, from Bulgaria to Oklahoma, USA.  I had to sign for the USPS delivery, so I'm glad I was home.

BeautyCosmetic.Biz was out of a few colors I had hoped to buy, but I still managed to get 8 colors!!  Here are the first 4:

#666 - 667 - 668 - 672

This is 2 coats.  I was surprised how sheer and light they were, but 2 coats made perfect coverage.  No top coat in these pics.  I could hardly wait until they were DRY to take pics...forget waiting on a top coat!

In indirect light they look like normal, pretty colors.  In direct light they come to life like sparkly rainbow parties!!  I wish I was able to capture how gorgeous they are in the pics.

PCFC Pastel Patchwork

These spring challenges have shown me that I don't own many pastels.  But no biggie.  I had 3, and was planning some time consuming multicolor nails.  Then Sophia (the baby) said, Oh no you aren't!!  So I went with plan B......not so much patchwork...they make me think more quilt looking.  KISS.  One base color...one stamping color.

PCFC - Spring Lilac

My 1st try at a Purple Crumpet Fairy Challenge (PCFC).  That's a mouthful!  :)  The Crumpet's blog is here!

Purple is my favorite color, but not lilac.  I didn't realize I own lots of purples, but no light purple polishes.  Nuttin!  This challenge is your favorite spring lilac or peach.  Well hells bells I don't own peach either!!  LOL!

After getting all frustrated I opted to just paint my nails with a pretty new blue glitter, and call it a day.  But then I found some lilac/lavender (what's the difference??) striping polish and added a little lilac love to my nails.

I guess this has to be my favorite by default...it's my only one!  LOL!

Pure Ice A List is the base.  Then Wet n Wild Blue Wants to be a Millionaire (which is so so pretty in person).  Stripes in Kiss Soft Purple.  And a tiny bit of Pure Ice Busted over the stripes for sparkle.

Yes it took me ages to do this mediocre mani.  But oh well.  It kept me from cleaning house, so...score!  :)

 Maybe next time I'll clean up my cuticles and apply lotion before I take pics!  :op

Wet n Wild glitters

This past weekend I got to play in my sis-in-law's polish stash.  She recently bought some Wet n Wild glitter polishes at Walgreens, and they are so pretty!

Before I spam you with pics of my nubbies, here is a link to Scrangie's nail blog post about the same polishes.  It looks like she used JUST the glitters with top coats.  I have to muck with stuff...gotta try different color base coats and such.  :)

My left hand got the Wet n Wild Back Alley Deals.  It's dark purple with hot pink.  I used a dark purple fast dry base coat color on my pinkie and index fingers, and a magenta/hotter pink base on the bird and ring fingers.  Then Back Alley Deals followed by a thin coat of Essie's Set in Stones glitter.  I loooooove that Essie glitter b/c it's got such a cute mix of big and small glitter flecks.  Oh, and a clear coat on top.  The Wet n Wild glitters are very matte and gritty until the clear coat, then they POP!  It was a happy accident that my left hand now matches my phone case!  :)

My right hand got Wet n Wild Rockin' Rubies, over a hot pink base color.  Again with Essie's Set in Stones and a clear coat on top.  I wish I'd done both hands AND my toes like this.  It's so pretty! 

I need to add another layer of clear coat.  I love these so much I may keep this on for TWO days!  LOL!  Well, if they last.  My nubbies look like happy little parties!

Valentiney nails

Did not think taking photos of my own nails would be harder than my polymer clay goodies. Go figure.

Ok, so I'm better at clay than painting my nails....so the clay looks better....but whatever. I'm getting better. :)

I remember in grade school there was a rhyme, "red and pink make you stink". And perhaps they do. But I think they look cute together. And I took a shower today. So there.

The red is Rimmel's Lasting Finish Pro Stiletto Red, pink is Pure Ice Jackpot, glitter is Pure Ice Don't You Wish.

Cute, cheap nails

It pains me to spend over $5 for a bottle of nail polish, because I'm a tight wad. :) I would LOVE to have a collection of holographic polishes and snazzy glitters, but not until they fall into a clearance bin. :)

Today my nails are cute, glittery mauve and on the cheap!

Pure Ice Rumors + Bon Bons 1241




I'm guessing "1241" is the color code for the Bon Bons. Or are they too cheap to have individual identification?? LOL! 1241 is what is stamped on the bottom of the tiny bottle.

Pure Ice is about $2 a bottle, and Bon Bons are .99 cents.

Almost forgot to say...this color combo was inspired by Crumpet! :)

WIPs

Crafting ADD has is advantages. There is a wide array of WIPs on the clay table at all times.

When I was in the mood to try sculpting shrunken heads:

Not bad, since they are my first face sculpts. Not necessarily good either. :)
Shrunken Barbie, is still uncooked, but she has her pearl earrings on! Tribal man is baked and pierced. He was the 1st one I made, using a googled shrunken head image as my guide. I found an old wood bead hoop earring that made a nice display handle for him.
The last guy is just anglo-saxon man for now. Again I used a google pic as a guide. But somewhere in the process of head #3 I saw.....OH! sparkly!! New idea!!

What was I talking about??

In a happy accident I made batik! Sort of.

I was smooshing an old chrysanthemum cane to use for scrap, and the patterns and colors were really pretty. So I layered it up, mokume gane style, and came up with this. The blues go well in the downstairs bath, so...score!

Terrariums & clay

In the midst of random surfing I came upon pictures of small terrariums. I love terrariums! Always have. But they've been on the backburner in my brain. That's when it dawned on me....I love making miniatures...I love terrariums....I'll combine the two!

Here is my start of a new adventure. I have dozens of ideas already sketched out. My inner me is the most balanced when I'm being creative. So here's to the hope of a more peaceful, happy me! :)

Trying to feel Fall

I just don't *do* mature, neutral, earthy, Fall colors. But I am trying to step outside my comfort zone of pinks, greens, stripes, and glitter. Well, not the glitter. :)

In person they almost look like crushed velvet under glass. It's a happy accident I'm going to play with more!
